Dear DoNs
You are invited to join this session with Raf Hamaizia, National Expert by Experience lead.
A Co-production on a strategic level within MH services.
Raf’s role as an Expert by Experience sees him using his perspective as a former service user in a variety of organisations within the public and Independent sector. This has included the development of policy and guidance with NICE (National Institute of Health and Care Excellence), Royal College of Psychiatrists and the National Health Service.
He is currently the Expert by Experience Lead with Cygnet Healthcare and an Expert by Experience with the Care Quality Commission. His experience of working on both a strategic and local level within Cygnet Healthcare has been recognised as ‘an area of outstanding practice’ by the Care Quality Commission and a number of other organisations.
Raf was one of 12 chairs on the Independent Review of the Mental Health Act commissioned by the Department of Health and Social Care.
He is has completed an MSc in Mental Health Recovery and Social Inclusion at the University of Hertfordshire.

NHSEI Retention programme
Chris is the national programme lead for retention at NHSEI in the People Directorate and a MH nurse by background. He previously led the MH programme in North London Partners STP. He is leading work on retention in MH and LD and is keen to connect with the Forum.
This is an opportunity to feed in the work the NWSDU has been doing on retention initiatives in MH and have discussion about how we might best influence national action as a Forum.
